Calgon Carbon Corp. (CCC) said its third-quarter net income soared to $13.86 million or $0.25 per share from $2.22 million or $0.04 per share in the year earlier period. On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.13 for the quarter. Analysts' estimate typically excludes one-time items.
Third-quarter income from continuing operations jumped to $13.86 million from $2.43 million in the previous year.
Net sales for the third quarter of 2009 increased to $107.49 million from $99.07 million in the comparable period. Nine analysts estimated revenues of $101.72 million for the quarter.
