Tuesday, Louisiana-Pacific Corp. (LPX) said its third-quarter net loss attributable to the company narrowed to $12.5 million or $0.12 per share from $111.1 million or $1.08 per share in the prior year period.
Net loss from continuing operations for the quarter narrowed to $12.7 million or $0.12 per share from $100.4 million or $0.98 per share in the year-ago period.
Excluding items, loss from continuing operations for the quarter was $14.2 million or $0.14 per share, compared to a loss of $39.0 million or $0.38 per share in the prior year quarter.
On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss of $0.19 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net sales for the quarter declined to $309 million from $390 million in the comparable period. Nine analysts estimated revenues of $304.09 million for the quarter.
