Foster Wheeler AG (FWLT) reported that its third-quarter net income attributable to the company was $90.0 million or $0.71 per share, compared to $127.9 million or $0.88 per share, in the third quarter of 2008.
Excluding items from both quarterly periods, net income in the third quarter was $91.7 million or $0.72 per share, compared with $129.6 million or $0.89 per share, in the third quarter of 2008. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.63 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Operating revenues for the quarter were $1.22 billion, compared to $1.72 billion in the prior year quarter. Ten analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $1.29 billion for the quarter.
