Wednesday, Harris Corp. (HRS) an international communications and information technology company, announced the award of the U.S. Southern Command or USSOUTHCOM HQ relocation program in Miami, Florida.
Under the $37 million ITES-2S Task Order, USSOUTHCOM personnel will move to a new headquarters complex beginning October 1, 2010. The Task Order will extend over 20 months - with additional optional tasks in excess of $18 million, the company said.
"SOUTHCOM has been an important customer for many years and we are honored to be engaged in their exciting headquarters relocation project. Providing performance based, IT service management solutions to Combatant Commands such as SOUTHCOM is a key area of focus for our business and we are delighted that SOUTHCOM has selected the Harris IT Services team," said John Heller, vice president and general manager, Department of Defense Programs.
