Taiwan's seasonally adjusted jobless rate stood at 6.04% in October, down from 6.09% in September, a report from the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics showed on Monday. Economists' expected the jobless rate to be 6.1% in October.
Meanwhile, the unadjusted jobless rate stood at 5.96% in October, down from 6.04% in September. A year ago, the jobless rate was 4.37%.
The number of unemployed totaled 653,000 persons, down from 661,000 in September.
The jobless rate for men dropped slightly to 6.67% from 6.68% in September, while the jobless rate for women fell to 5.03% from 5.21%.
