New York Community Bancorp Inc. (NYB) said that it has priced its underwritten public offering of 60 million shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $13.00 per share. The offering is expected to close on December 11.
The proceeds from the offering will qualify as tangible common equity and Tier 1 regulatory capital, and will be used by the company for general corporate purposes, including capitalizing the growth stemming from its acquisition of the deposits and certain assets of AmTrust Bank.
The company has granted to the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional nine million shares to cover over-allotments, if any.
