Liquid crystal display panel maker AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) said Tuesday that its preliminary consolidated revenues for the month of November increased 116.4% year-over-year, while declined 3% from the preceding month of October.
The Hsinchu, Taiwan-based company's November net sales were NT$ 38.42 billion, compared to NT$ 17.75 billion in the same month last year, but decreased from NT$ 39.6 billion reported in October.
Unconsolidated net sales were NT$ 36.78 billion, up 108.7% from NT$ 17.62 billion in November 2008, while declined 3.4% from October sales of NT$ 38.07 billion.
From January to November 2009, consolidated net sales were NT$ 322.49 billion, down 21.2% from NT$ 409.19 billion in the same period last year. Unconsolidated net sales for the period dropped 22.7% to NT$ 314.98 billion from NT$ 407.27 billion in the prior-year period.
According to the company, large-sized panel shipments in November, with applications on desktop monitors, notebook PCs, and LCD TVs, were close to 9.32 million units, an increase of 4.1% from October 2009. AU Optronics said its small and medium-sized panels shipments were about 18.3 million units, down by 29.3% from the preceding month since some applications are in seasonal slowdown.
AUO closed Monday's regular trading at $11 on the NYSE.
