Tuesday, endovascular company ev3 Inc. (EVVV) announced the promotion of two executives effective January 1, 2010. The company said that Pascal Girin has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer, and David Mowry to senior vice president and president, worldwide neurovascular.
Robert Palmisano, president and chief executive officer of ev3 Inc., commented, "I'm confident that these promotions will further bolster our ability to capitalize on the growth opportunities within our neurovascular, peripheral vascular and international businesses and to accelerate their market performance."
In his nerw role, Girin will have global operating responsibility for ev3's peripheral vascular, neurovascular and international businesses. Girin has served as ev3's executive vice president and president, worldwide neurovascular and international since July 2008. Prior to this, Girin served as senior vice president and president of international from August 2007 to July 2008; president of international from July 2005 to August 2007 and European general manager from September 2003 to July 2005.
Prior to joining ev3, Girin served in various capacities at BioScience Europe Baxter Healthcare Corp. from September 1998 to August 2003.
Mowry will have global responsibility for ev3's neurovascular business. Mowry has served as ev3's senior vice president, strategy and corporate operations since July 2008. Prior to this, he served as senior vice president, corporate manufacturing from October 2007 to July 2008 and vice president of operations from November 2006 to October 2007.
Prior to ev3, Mowry served as the vice president of operations and logistics at the Zimmer-Spine division of the Zimmer Corp. from February 2004 to November 2006.
EVVV closed Tuesday's trade on the NASDAQ at $13.10, down $0.08 or 0.61%.
