TeleCommunication Systems Says SMSC Application Set To Process Nearly 700 Bln Text Messages By 2009-end - Quick Facts

TeleCommunication Systems Inc. or TCS (TSYS) said its Short Message Service Center or SMSC application running on platforms in wireless carriers' networks is set to process close to 700 billion text messages by the end of 2009 and is poised to handle the tremendous surge in messaging forecasted for this holiday season.

TCS noted that its messaging software has already powered about 480 billion messages through the third quarter of this year, surpassing the expected 2 billion messages per day mark.

According to Frost and Sullivan's recent report, the text messaging demand is projected to increase by more than 50% in 2010.
