The US dollar extended its previous sessions' downtrend against the currencies of Europe and Switzerland in early trading on Tuesday.
The greenback plummeted to an 18-day low of 1.0282 against the Swiss franc around 7:15 am ET, down 0.7 percent from yesterday's close of 1.035. The next downside target for the dollar-franc pair is likely seen around the 1.022 level. As of 7:30 am, the greenback-franc pair was worth 1.029.
Against the euro, the greenback tumbled to a 12-day low of 1.445 by 7:20 am ET. The euro-buck pair that closed yesterday's deals at 1.438 is presently quoted at 1.4445.
