Hot Topic Inc. (HOTT) announced the sales results for the month of December, or the five weeks ended January 2, 2010. Total company net sales decreased 9.8% to $119.0 million from last year.
Comparable store sales decreased 10.9%.
The company announced that it now estimates earnings per share for the fourth quarter in the range of $0.18-$0.20. The revised guidance reflects a comparable store sales decline in the range of 10%-12%. Previous guidance was $0.23-$0.26 per share based upon a high-single-digit comp decline.
