With the value of imports increasing at a faster pace than the value of exports in the month of November, the Commerce Department released a report Tuesday showing that the U.S. trade deficit widened by more than economists had been expecting.
The report showed that the trade deficit widened to $36.4 billion in November from a revised $33.2 billion in October. Economists had expected the deficit to widen to $34.6 billion from the $32.9 billion originally reported for the previous month.
