The number of building permits for dwellings in Finland rose 64% compared to the previous year to 2,232 in November, Statistics Finland reported on Friday. This was largely driven by a surge in permits for blocks of flats, which grew 84%.
At the same time, total building permits dropped 18% annually. The number of permits for industrial & warehouse buildings dipped 47%, while permits for residential buildings climbed 47%.
In the January to November period, total building permits declined 23% from a year ago, while dwelling permits were down 5%.
