Wednesday, CGI Group Inc. (GIB_A.TO, GIB) reported first-quarter net income of C$111.2 million or C$0.37 per share, compared to C$80.1 million or C$0.26 per share in the same quarter last year.
Excluding tax adjustments, net income was C$80.7 million or C$0.27 per share, compared to C$71.4 million or C$0.23 per share in the year ago quarter.
On average, four analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn C$0.27 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter was C$0.91 billion, down from C$1.00 billion in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of C$970.59 million for the quarter.
