Rockwell Automation Set New High For Year Wednesday

Rockwell Automation Inc. (ROK) reported first quarter income from continuing operations of $0.54 per share Wednesday morning, down from $0.81 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.36. The company expects to report full year 2010 EPS of $2.00 to $2.40, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.74.
Rockwell Automation gapped open sharply higher Wednesday, but was range-bound for the majority of the session. Shares finished up by $4.68 at $50.84 on the highest volume in nearly 10 months. The stock climbed above a month and a half long range and set a new high for the year.
