Wednesday, OneBeacon Insurance Group Ltd. (OB, OBIG) said its fourth-quarter net income attributable to OneBeacon's shareholders was $72.4 million or $0.76 per share compared with a loss of $171.9 million or $1.81 per share in the prior year period.
Operating income for the quarter rose to $66.2 million or $0.70 per share from $55.4 million or $0.58 per share in the year-ago period. On average, 7 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.44 per share for the quarter.
Total revenues for the quarter increased to $559.8 million from $168.8 million in the comparable period.
