Commvault Systems Inc. (CVLT) said its third-quarter net income grew to $5.44 million or $0.12 per share from $3.88 million or $0.09 per share in the year-ago period.
Non-GAAP net income for the quarter increased to $8.71 million or $0.19 per share from $6.55 million or $0.15 per share in the same period prior year.
Total revenues for the third quarter of 2009 rose to $70.69 million from $60.05 million in the comparable period. On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.18 on revenues of $68.60 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimate typically excludes one-time items.
