Emerson Electric Co. (EMR) reported first quarter net earnings attributable to common stockholders of $0.56 per share Tuesday morning, down from the $0.60 per share in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.42.
Emerson Electric Co. gapped open sharply higher Tuesday and advanced further around the middle of the afternoon. Shares finished up by $4.29 at $46.77 on the highest volume of the year. The stock broke out to a new high for the year.
