(LNT) said its fourth-quarter net income attributable to Alliant Energy common share owners increased to $53.6 million or $0.49 per share from $50.6 million or $0.46 per share in the prior year period. On average, 4 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.45 per share for the quarter.
Operating revenues for the quarter declined to $854.9 million from $882.0 million in the comparable period.
Alliant Energy's earnings per share guidance for 2010 are expected to be in range of $2.45 - $2.75. Seven analysts estimate earnings of $2.53 per share for the year.
