Cincinnati Financial Corp. (CINF) reported fourth-quarter net income of $245 million or $1.50 per share, compared with $161 million or $0.99 per share, in the fourth quarter of 2008. Operating income was $86 million or $0.53 per share, compared to $92 million or $0.57 per share in the year ago quarter.
Total revenues for the quarter were $1.133 billion, up from $1.018 billion in the year ago quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.52 per share on revenues of $911.63 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
