Electrical & Gulf Projects Operating company, a part of L&T 's construction division bagged orders for Rs.582 crore from various clients for four electrical projects in India and UAE.
It secured a project from Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for Rs.155 crore for turnkey construction of 37 km of 400 kV environment-friendly Multicircuit transmission line involving narrow base towers. The project is to be completed in 10 months. This project will enable transmission of power from North Chennai Thermal Power Station Stage II to Almathy 400 kV substation.
The second project is from Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation through Crompton Greaves for construction of 765/400 kV air insulated substation at Unnao. The Rs.90-crore project is to be completed in two phases with the first phase completion by March 15, 2011 and second phase completion by July 31, 2011.
The third project is from NLC Tamil Nadu Power, a joint venture between NLC and Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for construction of 400/200 kV indoor type gas insulated switch-yard at 2X500 NTPL power project, Tuticorin. The Rs.70 crore project is to be completed in 34 months in a phased manner for different packages.
The fourth project is an EPC order from Federal Electricity and Water Authority or FEWA- UAE for construction of two 132/33/11 kV gas insulated substations for Rs.267 crore.
