Tuesday, IMS Health Inc. (RX) reported fourth-quarter net income of $71.5 million or $0.39 per share, compared to net income of $98.5 million or $0.54 per share in the same quarter last year.
On a non-GAAP basis, net income was $95.1 million, compared to $90.6 million in the year ago quarter. On a per share basis, non-GAAP earnings were $0.52, up from $0.50 in the prior year quarter.
On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.39 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter was $599.2 million, up 3% from $580.9 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $565.57 million for the quarter.
