China has dismissed media reports that India's long-range nuclear-capable Agni-III missile, test-fired last Sunday, poses a threat to it, and asserts that both countries do not pose any threat to each other.
Describing its ties with India as "friendly and co-operative," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said he did not want to either "interpret or comment" on media reports that the February 7 launch of India's 3,500 km-range Agni-III missile, which put China's major cities within its strike range, posed a threat to China.
"China will not be a threat to India nor will India pose a threat to China," he was quoted as saying by state-run Xinhua news agency at a regular news briefing. He added that China-India relations continued to maintain their good momentum.
