The price of gold was little changed Monday morning even as the U.S. dollar was ticking lower against a basket of currencies. There was lack of physical buying of gold, analysts opined.
Gold for April delivery edged up $0.9 to $1,136.10 an ounce. Bullion was struggling to move higher after having hit its 7-week high near $1,145 last week.
Meanwhile, the greenback was edging higher versus the euro, recovering some of its early morning losses .
Elsewhere, the prices of silver and platinum were ticking higher in morning deals, with platinum hovering near its 7-week high as investors and exchange traded funds, reportedly, build long positions.
