Vimpel-Communications (VIP) reported that its fourth-quarter net income attributable to the company was US$283 million, compared to a loss of US$816 million in the same quarter last year. Net income attributable to the company was US$0.27 per basic ADS, compared to a loss of US$0.81 per basic ADS in the prior year quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of US$0.41 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net operating revenues for the quarter were US$2.31 billion, down from US$2.56 billion in the prior year quarter. Four analysts had consensus revenue estimate of US$2.33 billion for the quarter.
