Fitch Ratings has upgraded the Long-term Issuer Default Ratings of Viacom Inc. (VIA) to 'BBB+' from 'BBB'. The Rating Outlook is Stable.
In addition, Fitch raised Viacom's Senior unsecured notes and debentures to 'BBB+' from 'BBB', Senior unsecured bank facility due 2010 to 'BBB+' from 'BBB'.
Additionally, Fitch has affirmed ratings of Short-term IDR at 'F2', and Commercial paper at 'F2'.
Fitch noted that it expects Viacom to maintain the more conservative financial policy demonstrated in recent quarters.
