The head of a private Greek broadcaster was shot to death outside his home in Athens on Monday.
Sokratis Giolias, 37, chief of Athens radio station Thema FM, was woken up by a phone call, and was shot more than 15 times at his doorstep in the eastern neighborhood of Ilioupoli.
The pre-dawn attack has shocked public and journalist community in the country's capital, reports say.
Police suspect more than one gunmen behind the attack on Giolias, who is also one of the founding members of the popular online news blog, Troktiko. They ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack.
In a country where corruption is high and media has political links, Giolias and Troktiko have been relentlessly fighting to expose scandals.
