Boston Globe, is wholly owned by The New York Times Co. (NYT), announced that it has appointed Jason Kissell as its vice president, advertising, effective immediately. Kissell will oversee advertising for The Boston Globe, Boston.com, and specialty publications. He will continue to report to Lisa DeSisto, chief advertising officer, The Boston Globe, and general manager, Boston.com.
Previously Kissell, 39, was the executive director of advertising for the Globe, responsible for all print and digital revenue for the classified categories, local retail advertising, "Design New England" magazine, and the Boston.com "Your Town" initiative.
Kissell joined the Globe in 2002 as an outside sales executive within the Globe's multi-media recruitment division. He went on to become the director of business development and strategy, and then managing director. He also managed the strategic planning and niche product development functions for the Globe.
Before working at the Globe, Kissell was director of marketing for RetailExchange.com, a B2B internet marketplace, and also worked at Titleist and Footjoy Worldwide, where he was brand manager for the Pinnacle golf ball product line.
