The Swiss stock market is showing a fractional gain in mid-day trading on Friday.
With little definitive news to drive the overall market, stocks have bounced around through the first half of the session. Traders are waiting for U.S. economic data during the afternoon and earnings figures from some large U.S. firms, like Procter & Gamble and Chevron.
Traders also have an eye on Greece, where debt negotiations are continuing.
The benchmark SMI is up 0.04 percent to 6,102.60. The SLI is higher by 0.2 percent at 931.66. The SPI has ticked up 0.05 percent to 5,517.96.
Transocean is among the notable gainers on the day. The operating company for the offshore rig that caused the U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil spill won a favorable ruling in a court case stemming from the disaster. The stock is up 6.9 percent.
