Following the release of Reuters/University of Michigan's final report on the consumer sentiment index for January at 9:55 am ET, the US dollar held steady against its major rivals. As of 9:57 am ET, the greenback was trading at 0.9183 against the Swiss franc, 1.3145 against the euro, 1.5720 against the pound and 76.82 versus the yen.
