Lockheed Martin Receives $66 Mln Contract To Support U.S. Army Research Lab

Lockheed Martin (LMT) announced that it has been awarded a $66 million contract by The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville.

The company said it received this contract to stand up the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases Replacement Laboratory at Fort Detrick, Md.

Through the six-year contract, Lockheed Martin's Global Training and Logistics business will help transition essential personnel and equipment to the new facility, which includes nearly one-million square feet of new space comprised of multiple labs, administrative and headquarters offices.

In addition to the new laboratory at Fort Detrick, Lockheed Martin's expertise in health care outfitting and transition services includes the Department of Defense's new Medical Education Training Campus or METC at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
