Ultra Clean Holdings, Inc. (UCTT) reported fourth-quarter net income of $7.8 million, or $0.34 per share up from $3.9 million, or $0.17 per share for the fourth quarter of 2010. The company said that an income tax benefit of $6.4 million was recorded in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Revenue for the fourth quarter of 2011 was $86.9 million, a decrease of 27.8% from the same period a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.03 per share on revenues of $83.72 million. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For the first quarter 2012, the company expects revenue to be in the range of $105 million to $110 million. Earnings per share is expected to be in the range of $0.15 to $0.18. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $0.09 per share on revenues of $88.98 million for the first-quarter.
