Ensign Group, Inc. (ENSG) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $10.4 million or $0.48 per share, compared to $11.7 million or $0.55 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Total revenue for the quarter rose to $192.66 million from $172.76 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.46 per share on revenue of $202.52 million for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For 2012, the company forecast revenues of $830 million to $846 million and earnings of $2.36 to $2.42 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $2.15 per share on revenue of $851.21 million for the full year 2012.
