Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) reported March comparable sales growth of 6% for the total company, with net sales totaling $9.13 billion for the same month, a 10 percent increase from $8.33 billion in the prior year.
The company said that the inflation in gasoline prices had a positive impact on comparable sales, particularly for the thirty-one week period; foreign currencies had a negative impact for both periods. Excluding these effects, comparable sales for the five-week period went up 6%.
