Boeing Bags Order For Four 787 Dreamliners From Transaero Airlines Of Russia

Boeing (BA) Monday announced that it has bagged a firm order from Russia-based Transaero Airlines for the supply of four new 787-8 Dreamliners, valued at $744 million, at list prices.

The interesting fact is that the order for the 4 Dreamliners was signed in a ceremony held in air, on-board the 787 plane during a demonstration flight for Transaero's executives, employees and special guests.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transaero Airlines, Alexander Pleshakov, said: . "Following our innovative approach and our continuous efforts to enhance our product quality, we have chosen the state-of-the-art, highly-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It is very symbolic that our airline became a participant of the first order announcement ceremony conducted in the air on board the 787. Boeing 787s will perform flights on both Transaero's domestic and international routes."
