Sourcefire Inc. (FIRE) reported first quarter adjusted net income of $0.11 per share after the bell Monday, compared to $0.04 per share in the prior year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.08. Second quarter adjusted EPS is expected to be between $0.12 and $0.14, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.13.
Sourcefire gapped up sharply Tuesday and climbed during the first hour of trade, before settling into a range. The stock ended the session higher by 6.64 at $57.63 on strong volume. Sourcefire broke out of a 2 1/2 week range and set a new high for the year.
