Feihe International Inc. (ADY) reported first quarter net income from continuing operations of $0.40 per share Thursday morning, up from $0.23 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.24.
Feihe International gapped open higher Thursday and climbed during the first half hour of trade. Shares rose further around mid-afternoon and closed up by 2.87 at $8.74 on the highest volume of the year. The stock broke out of a 3-week range and set a 9-month high.
