Authorities Looking For "Suicidal" FBI Agent

Authorities are looking for a missing FBI agent from Burbank, California who they described as suicidal and possibly armed.

Nearly 150 law enforcers are looking for Stephen Ivens, 35, a special agent who specialized in security affairs for the FBI at the Los Angeles division. Ivens was last seen Thursday night at his Burbank home where he lived with his wife and one-year-old son, according to the Burbank Leader.

"There is a handgun unaccounted for from inside his residence. There is no indication he is or has been involved in any criminal activity," according to a statement from the Burbank Police Department. "The police department is concerned for his well-being."

Officials gave no reason why Ivens is suicidal and did not comment if his emotional state was work-related.

Ivens has been with the FBI for more than three years and prior to that spent eight years with the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"He's been a valuable member of our office," FBI Special Agent Steve Gomez told the Los Angeles Times.

Authorities described Ivens as a white male, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds and wearing prescription glasses. He has brown eyes and brown hair with a receding hair line.
