Ireland's merchandise trade surplus decreased for the second consecutive month in March, preliminary data released by the Central Statistics Office showed Wednesday.
The seasonally adjusted trade surplus decreased to EUR3.02 billion in March from EUR3.62 billion in February. In January, the trade balance was a deficit of EUR3.81 billion.
Export of goods increased a seasonally adjusted 5 percent month-on-month to EUR7.62 billion in March.
Thee value of imports climbed 26 percent sequentially to EUR4.6 billion. Compared to March 2011, the value of imports increased 16 percent during the month.
