Czech industrial producer price inflation slowed in April, data from the Czech Statistical Office showed Thursday.
Producer price inflation came in at 2.2 percent annually in April, down from 3 percent in March. Economists were forecasting the annual rate to ease to 2.4 percent in April. Month-on-month, industrial producer prices remained unchanged in April.
Data showed that agricultural producer prices were lower by 2.8 percent from a year ago, same as in March. At the same time, construction work prices dropped 0.7 percent, marginally slower than the 0.8 percent decline seen in March.
In a separate communique, the statistical office said export price inflation eased to 2.5 percent annually in March from 4.2 percent in February. Likewise, import price inflation came in at 4.2 percent, down from 5.8 percent in February.
Month-on-month, export prices decreased 1.2 percent and import prices dipped 0.7 percent in March. The terms of trade fell to 99.5 percent from 99.9 percent a month ago.
