UTV Media 4-month Revenues From Cont. Opns. Up 2%

UTV Media plc (UTV.L) said that revenue from continuing operations for the four months increased 2% compared to last year. Excluding the impact of negative foreign exchange movements, revenue was up 3% during the period.

For the four months period, the company's Radio GB division revenue rose by 8% compared to the same period last year, while revenue in Radio Ireland division increased by 1% on a local currency basis. National Advertising revenue in television operations declined by 6% and revenue in New Media business grew by 3% compared to the same period in 2011.

In its interim management statement, UTV Media stated that trading in the first half of 2012 was currently in line with view, with the major sporting events of Euro 2012 and the London Olympics expected to generate strong revenue growth during the summer.

Looking ahead, the company said it expects year on year revenue increase of around 20% for Radio GB in May and June and also anticipates revenues for New Media business division to increase by 15% on last year.
