The Japanese yen edged down against major currencies in early Asian trading on Tuesday. The yen is currently trading near 79.78 against the US dollar, 99.88 versus the euro, 83.18 against the Swiss franc, 124.29 versus the pound, 62.93 against the NZ dollar and 80.06 versus the Australian dollar from Monday's close of 79.67, 99.64, 82.98, 124.10, 62.73 and 79.77, respectively.
