Bridgepoint Education Inc. (BPI) announced this morning that Ashford University received a letter from the HLC communicating its Special Monitoring status to confirm compliance with the Commission's Criteria for Accreditation, including the Minimum Expectations.
Bridgepoint Education gapped open lower Friday and has spiked to the downside in early trade. Shares are now down 1.48 at $11.49 on above average volume. The stock has been declining for over a week and has set a new low for the year.
