The British currency held steady against major currencies after the releasing of shop price index for the month of July by British Retail Consortium in early Asian trading o n Wednesday. As of now, the sterling is trading at 1.5312 against the franc, 122.43 versus the yen, 0.7849 against the euro and 1.5669 versus the dollar.
