Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (CY) Monday extended the offer to acquire chipmaker Ramtron International Corp. (RMTR) for $2.68 per share to 5.00 pm New York City time, on August 24, 2012.
The offer, which represents a 48 percent premium to Ramtron's closing stock price on June 11, was previously scheduled to expire on last Friday.
Cypress said it continues to believe that the offer represents full and fair value and provides Ramtron's stockholders with immediate liquidity at a substantial premium in a very volatile market.
