Acme Packet, Inc. (APKT) Monday reported a loss for the fourth quarter, compared to a profit in the same period last year, hurt mainly by lower revenues.
Net loss for the quarter was $2.0 million or $0.03 per share, compared to a profit of $8.7 million or $0.12 per share in the same period last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $6.5 million or $0.09 per share. On average, 21 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.08 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues dropped to $70.7 million from $83.0 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $68.86 million.
