As widely expected, the European Central Bank retained its benchmark interest rate at 0.75 percent and the deposit facility rate at 0.0 percent.
The euro held steady against its major opponents following the rate decision. As of 7:47 am ET, the euro was trading at 127.0 against the yen, 1.2320 against the Swiss franc, 0.8635 against the pound and 1.3565 against the dollar.
