The U.S. trade balance for December is set for release at 8:30 am ET Friday. Before the data, the greenback showed mixed performance against other major currencies. While the greenback rose against the franc and the euro, it held steady against the yen. Against the pound, the greenback fell.
At 8:25 am ET, the greenback was quoted at 1.3365 against the euro, 92.42 against the yen, 0.9185 against the franc and 1.5816 against the pound.
