Secrecy Shrouds Quest For Next Pope

Closed door politics in the Holy See will have much of the world's attention starting on Tuesday.

That's when the Catholic Church's College of Cardinals officially begins its highly secretive conclave to select a new pope.

The Vatican has gone so far as to install jamming devices designed to prevent any of the cardinals or staff members from leaking information about the meeting through their cell phones.

There are 115 cardinals from around the world gathered in Rome to elect a successor to the retired Pope Benedict XVI.

Among the favorites to be the next pontiff are Cardinal Angelo Scola, the Archbishop of Milan, as well as American Cardinals Sean O'Malley and Timothy Dolan, Canadian Cardinal Marc Ouellet, and Brazilian Cardinal Odilo Scherer.

Many analysts are expecting the selection process to be completed before the end of the week.
