Malaysia's consumer price inflation accelerated in February, data from the Department of Statistics showed Wednesday.
The rate of inflation rose to 1.5 percent in February from 1.3 percent in January. The outcome was in line with expectations. On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.2 percent.
The price index for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 3.3 percent annually in February. Prices of non-food articles rose 0.7 percent.
Clothing and footwear prices fell 1.2 percent year-on-year during the month, while utility costs rose 1.3 percent. Transport costs were 0.4 percent higher than a year earlier.
